1. Overview
Swan TAFE was established in January 2003, when three existing TAFEs joined forces.
Nowadays it is the workplace for almost 2.000 employees and with more than 30.000 students the largest training College in Western Australia. Over 70 program areas are offered and, successfully completed, can result in Certificates, Diplomas or Advanced Diplomas.
2. Location
Perth, founded in 1829, is the capital of Western Australia and home to more than 1.5 Million people. Located on the shores of the Indian Ocean, Perth offers numerous spectacular beaches with Cottesloe and Scarborough being the most famous. Well-known for its laid back atmosphere and its Mediterranean climate the city has become the home of choice for many Australians as well as people from all over the world. Today Perth is the fastest growing major city in Australia. Its business district is located next to the Swan River and functions as the administrative centre for Western Australia’s booming mining industry. The metropolitan area stretches from Yanchep in the north to Mandurah in the south and covers over 125 kilometres.
Lively districts such as Northbridge and Fremantle offer a great variety of clubs, bars, shopping venues and art galleries – everything for a good weekend out.
3. Campuses
Swan TAFE consists of six campuses in the towns of Bentley, Balga, Carlisle, Midland, Thornlie and Armadale. All campuses feature the amenities of a modern educational environment, such as cafeterias, sports facilities, state-of-the-art laboraties and excellent access to public transportation.
